Dow Chemical has formed an association with Siam Cement for building a second cracker in Map Ta Phut, Thailand. The unit, 67:33 joint venture between Siam Cement and Dow will have a capacity of 1.7 mln tpa including 900,000 tpa of ethylene and 800,000 tpa of propylene. Propylene production capacity will be 75% more than the first cracker. The cracker is scheduled to start production in H2-2010.
