Effective March 1, 2009, or as contract terms allow, Dow Europe GmbH will increase its prices for all MAGNUM™ ABS and TYRIL™ SAN grades by EUR 50 per metric ton due to continuing increase in energy and raw material costs over the last few weeks. The price increase will be applicable across the European, Middle Eastern, African and Indian regions for the Styrenic Copolymers products.
Moreover, Dow Europe GmbH will also increase its polystyrene prices by EUR 60 per metric ton for all general purpose and high impact STYRON™ polystyrene resins and STYRON™ A-TECH™ advanced technology polystyrene resins. This will be applicable across the European, Middle Eastern, African and Indian regions for its polystyrene resins. The company said in a release that its continued increase in energy and raw material costs for polystyrene which worsened the already unsustainable polystyrene margins.
