DSM Composite Resins AG, European market leader in unsaturated polyesters (UPE) and BÜFA GmbH & Co. KG, Europe's leading suppliers of resin specialities in the composite market have expressed intent to start up a strategic cooperation by January 2009 in form of two joint venture agreements. One JV will be focused on combining their European businesses in gelcoats, bonding pastes, pigment pastes and fire retardants while the other will create a Pan European distributor focused on the composite industry. The two joint ventures will have headquarters located in Germany.
BÜFA houses state-of-the-art production facility in Rastede, North Germany and the 'complimentary' expertise of both companies will enable the JV to optimize businesses in gelcoats, bonding pastes, pigment pastes and fire retardants. Besides, the amalgamation of distribution activities of the DSM's Euroresins- the largest European composite distribution group-and that of BÜFA within a single roof will enhance the portfolio of products available to the customers with timely technical expertise.
