DSM plans ACN capacity increase by debottlenecking at Netherlands

03-Jul-06
A developing market for acrylonitrile (ACN) indicates healthy demand-supply outlook. To achieve two of the company's strategic goals: actively maintain our leading position in this market and improve our production processes via Operational Excellence, Royal DSM N.V. plans to embark on an expansion plan by de-bottlenecking its 235,000 tpa acrylonitrile (ACN) plant located on the Chemelot site, the Netherlands. The project plans to achieve capacity expansion by 10%, increasing capacity by 24,000 tpa at an estimated investment of EUR 15 million. The additional capacity will be available as of Q3, 2007.
