DuPont to produce bio based polymer in Asia

DuPont, in partnership with Zhangjiagang Glory Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. (Glory) plans to produce and distribute bio-based DuPont™ Sorona® polymer, throughout Asia. Located in the Jiangsu Province in China, Glory was formed earlier this year to exclusively produce Sorona® polymer and will manufacture Sorona® using the technology know-how licensed from DuPont. The facility is slated for start up in Q4 with plans to offer the first commercial product Q2-2007. The facility will have a production capacity of 66 million pounds or 30,000 tpa of Sorona®. Glory will receive Bio-PDO™ from the DuPont Tate & Lyle BioProducts facility in Loudon, Tenn., and will manufacture renewably sourced Sorona® polymer.
