EDC prices in Asia dipped last week as a result of a dip in upstream ethylene values and reduced demand from downstream VCM producers- as several plants have been shut for a planned turnaround. In Europe, EDC prices also fell on account of ample supplies despite strength of feedstock ethylene contract prices. VCM prices continue to remain firm in Europe.
Bids for EDC were seen dipping to levels below US$350/mt FOB levels. Offers in FE Asia region were pegged at the level of USD410-420/mt CFR, but bids were lower at around USD380/mt CFR.
