Enterprise Products Partners has begun a 14-day maintenance outage on a propylene splitter at its Mont Belvieu, Texas, facility, as per a company statement in Platts. The maintenance on splitter No. 1 will last until April 25, Enterprise said Monday in a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. The event will lead to the flaring of 400 lb of propylene and 6,000 lb of propane, it said.
Enterprise's Mont Belvieu complex houses six propylene fractionation facilities with a combined 95,000 b/d of capacity. Enterprise owns a 66.7% interest in three of the fractionation units, with an aggregate 41,000 b/d of capacity. It owns 100% of the remaining three units. Enterprise can produce more than 3.5 mln mt/year of polymer-grade propylene through the purification of refinery-grade propylene.
In market activity Monday, April polymer-grade propylene was last bid at 29 cents/lb Mont Belvieu-pipeline and last traded at 29.75 cents/lb MtB-pipe on Thursday.
