EU clears Vinnolit acquisition of Ineos specialty PVC business

The European Commission has cleared Vinnolit GmbH & Co KG's proposed acquisition of UK-based Ineos CV's specialty PVC business. The commission said the operation would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area. Vinnolit, indirectly owned by US private equity group Advent, is active in the manufacture of PVC as well as the production and supply of all intermediate products for PVC manufacture, such as caustic soda, vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) and tin tetrachloride.
