The European Vinyls Corporation (EVC), one of Europe's largest PVC maker, using the 'European Vinyls Corporation' name since ICI and Enichem set up their PVC joint venture in 1986, will now change. EVC is to adopt the name of its parent company Ineos from July 1. This is believed to be a logical step towards to full integration with the current owner Ineos. Ineos is a privately owned specialty and intermediate chemical manufacturer based at Lyndhurst, near Southampton.
Each of the three components of EVC is likely to modify the Ineos identity. This is anticipated to lead to the formation of Ineos Vinyls, Ineos Compounds and Ineos Films. However, the trade names for the company's products, such as Evipol and Evicom, are to remain constant.
