The regional and national public-sector actors in France have joined forces with the universities, training centers and large corporate organizations to set u a new 'Composite Park' - a technological park dedicated to composite and plastics processing activities in Eastern Moselle region of France. The technological park for composites chain will come at Porcelette spanning 70 hectare area enclosed and secured area of high-tech developmental activities. The major entities directly involved with the project include Pôle de Plasturgie de l'Est (PPE), PLASTINOV, Total Petrochemicals and the like.
The new Composite Park is touted as the first of its kind in entire Europe and will include technical centre of characterization, prototyping and virtualization; technological university platform and mutualized training and qualification workshop. The services offered will include centre of non-destructive material testing (C-scan, water jet, thermal analysis, shearography, deflectometry, etc.); recruitment support for composite related jobs and support for R&D project implementation/financing.
