Fuel oil, naphtha loading tankers face delays of 14 to 24 days at India's Chennai port

31-Jan-11
Tankers scheduled to load fuel oil and clean petroleum products at India's key east coast port of Chennai are facing delays of between 14 to 24 days, as per Platts. One of the main reasons for vessels getting bunched up has been blamed on the tardy loading process caused by slow pumping of products through the pipeline used to move the cargo onto the ship. Currently, the suppliers wait for the accumulation of cargoes before it can be pumped into the ship.
