Fujia Dahua was first ordered to shut its Dalian petrochemical complex on August 14 over fears of a chemical spill when Typhoon Muifa lashed the coast, has been told once again to shut its petrochemical plant by local authorities, as per Platts. The authorities also set up a group of experts to develop contingency plans for the shutdown procedure. In all, 18 security measures were recommended to support a safe and environmentally-friendly shutdown.
The plant, which is China's first privately-run petrochemical complex, has capacity to produce 700,000 tpa of PX, 350,000 tpa of benzene and 100,000 tpa of orthoxylene.
