Accutech Films, Ohio-based blown film solutions provider has recently installed a new 7-layer co-extrusion line from supplier Gloucester Engineering. The seven layer film line will contribute to Accutech's hi-tech coextrusion and specialty-film production facility and increases its production line tally to 15. The new 64in wide high barrier film line possesses two 50mm x 30:1 and five 40mm x 30:1 extruders surrounding a 12in diameter seven-layer Optiflow low profile die with encapsulated feed port technology. In addition, an innovative extruder extraction system allows screw removal with the die in place.
Gloucester Engineering's integrated control system manages everything from layer ratios to Automatic Profile Control, cage and collapser adjustments, and web tension control. A conditioning bath for asymmetric nylon films, corona treater, and space-saving dual turret winder for 30-in. dia. rolls round out the line's capabilities.
