INEOS announces force majeure on ethylene, propylene and butadiene

An unscheduled maintenance at the company's 330,000 tpa G4 cracker in Grangemouth, UK, during the last week of May 2007, has prompted Ineos to impose a force majeure on ethylene, propylene and butadiene (BD) production. The olefins unit had been shut in April second week for a seven-week scheduled maintenance. With this unscheduled maintenance, the plant is now expected to remain inactive for three more months.
