Indian Oil Corporation plans to invest to in a 15 million tpa refinery and petrochemicals complex comprising of a naphtha cracker and aromatics complex at Ennore in Tamil Nadu to cater primarily to the export market. The refinery-cum-petrochemical complex, to be set up at an investment outlay of Rs. 25,000 crores, will be a joint venture with Chennai Petroleum Corp Ltd., an IOC arm. Equity structure for the project will be decided, upon receipt of all necessary approvals. The Ennore refinery is estimated to commence in 2015-16, four years after the 15-MT Paradip refinery is scheduled for commissioning.
