Based on results of research began in 2001 and completed in last March, Brazilian petrochemical company Ipiranga Petroquímica is to produce PE-100 in Brazil, being the first company to do so. The main characteristic of this grade of high density polyethylene is its resistance to high pressure, making it ideal to make pressure cylinders for natural gas and in mining, water and sewage networks, underwater pipelines and water mains.
