Basell plans to increase compounding capacity for PP ("Hostacom" and "Hifax") at Suzhou, China to 27,000 tpa by September 2006. This hike in capacity is earlier than planned and can be attributed to unanticipated fast growth for automotive and appliance applications in China. When the facility commenced production in January 2005 with an output of 12,000 tpa, Basell envisaged expansion in stages up to a capacity of 60,000 tons.
