State-owned Kuwait Petroleum Corp (KPC) plans to finalise deals to build new refineries and petrochemical plants with Chinese, Vietnamese and Indian counterparts by next year.
The country also plans to award th eproject for construction of the country's fourth refinery- planned as the biggest in the Middle East.
Last month, Vietnamese state oil group Petrovietnam is reported to be closing in on an agreement with two companies including Kuwait Petroleum International to form a JV to build Vietnam's second refinery, with a capacity of 170,000 bpd.
Discussions are underway between KPC and Indian firms to build a large refinery and with 150,000-400,000 bpd capacity, and a petrochemical project with ethylene capacity of up to one million tons.
