China's LG Bohai is running its vinyls plants in Tianjin at 70% amid ongoing G20 meetings in China for the past 2 weeks, as per sources in Platts. LG Bohai has a 400,000 mt/year vinyl chloride monomer unit and a 400,000 mt/year PVC plant in Tianjin.
The PVC operations will likely go back to normal soon, while the operating rates of the VCM plant will be back to normal in two weeks. The company also plans to shut the VCM plant for one week of annual maintenance in August, the source noted.
