Copesul, a Braskem petrochemical company, located in Triunfo in Brazil's Rio Grande do Sul state, has embarked on its thirty day maintenance shutdown. Copesul had began a planned maintenance shutdown on March 31 at Planta 1. The plant's technology and capacity will also be upgraded in this period. Planta 1's ethylene production capacity will increase by 28,000 tpa, and its propylene production capacity will rise 16,600 tpa. Copesul's total capacity will increase from 1.22 mln tpa to 1.25 mln tpa.
