Iran's giant project Marun Petrochemical Unit is estimated to be completed by 2006. Upon completion of the unit, Iran will be in a position to export polymer-based raw materials to international markets along with meeting domestic demand.
The Amir Kabir Petrochemical Company has also begun production of light polyethylene. Aria-Sasol Company, a joint petrochemical venture with South Africa, is estimated to commence production by mid-2006.
