China plans US$5.6 Bln to develop Western oil, petrochem base

China plans to pump in 45 billion yuan (US$5.6 billion) to build a complete petrochemical chain in the western part of the country. US$20 bln will be invested in a 800,000 ton ethylene project in Sichuan and US$25 billion will go to Chongqing for building a number of petrochemical enterprises, which will use the products of the 800,000-ton ethylene project. These projects will form a complete chain.
