Mitsubishi Chem shuts 2 naphtha crackers for regular maintenance

Mitsubishi Chemical Corp. has shut two naphtha crackers for approx 5 weeks, in both eastern and western Japan for regular maintenance. Mitsubishi operates three crackers in Japan with combined ethylene production capacity of 1.278 million tpa, making it Japan's biggest petrochemical maker. Mitsubishi has shut a 453,000 tpa cracker at its 828,000 tpa Kashima plant in eastern Japan, as well as its 450,000 tpa cracker at its Mizushima plant in western Japan. Both the crackers are expected to restart in the third week of June. The table shows Mitsubishi Chemical's maintenance schedule.
