Eastman Chemical's Tritan™ copolyester has been used in the newly introduced Nathan Performance Gear™ Flip Straw Pure Bottles, a line of premium reusable plastic water bottles from Penguin Brands Inc. (USA). According to the company, Tritan™ copolyester delivers the advantages of traditional copolyesters, such as clarity and toughness, with high-heat and chemical resistance, improved design flexibility and ease of processing. More importantly, it is manufactured without bisphenol-A (BPA). This helped meet consumer demand for a functional, durable, reusable bottle that keeps water clean, safe and cool.
Nathan Performance Gear, a subsidiary of Penguin Brands, developed the Flip Straw Pure Bottles to allow easy access to fluids without unscrewing the cap or tilting the lid. The bottles feature a wide-mouthed, screw-top lid that is easy to grip and large enough for easy filling and cleaning, and a finger loop with QuickClip™ (patent pending) for attaching to belts and backpacks. As a result of utilizing Eastman Tritan™ copolyester, the Flip Straw Pure Bottles will not craze, crack or haze from aggressive cleaning detergents or continual exposure to high heat while in dishwashers.
