Borealis has introduced a new grade Borclear RB709CF that will yield transparent polypropylene (PP) film with improved clarity, and cost-effective, environmentally-friendly processing characteristics. The new grade of Borclear is intended for the production of high transparent PP blown films used in food packaging with improved optics and sealing behaviour. The film's low sealing initiation temperature and broad sealing window, reduce sealing cycle times, creating more seals per minute and increased line speed. The combination of properties will enable plastic film packaging producers to reduce the amount of film required, largely attributed to the material's high stiffness. The film is suggested for application in bread film, lamination film for dried pasta packaging and high gloss label films.
