Novatek and Titan to set up petrochem complex in Omsk

A cooperation memorandum has been signed to set up a petrochemical complex on the territory of the Omsk region. The agreement encompasses development and creation of up to date petrochemical manufacturing capabilities and complex upgrading of existing production for the purpose of liquefied hydrocarbon gas processing.Novatek and Titan intend to prepare the project of establishment of petrochemical complex to produce polypropylene, butadiene and synthetic rubber. Novatek is Russia's largest independent gas producer and the second-largest natural gas producer in Russia. It's upstream activities are concentrated in the prolific Yamal-Nenets Region, which is the world's largest natural gas producing area and accounts for over 90% of Russia's natural gas production and 20% of the world's gas production.
