Oman Polypropylene, which is 60% owned by government-run Oman Oil Co, 20% by Gulf Investment Corporation and 20% by LG International of South Korea will be starting up its 340,000 mta polypropylene in Sohar, Oman, by early second half 2006. Construction of LGI's 300,000 mta ethylene dichloride (EDC) joint-venture with Iran's National Petrochemical Co and Oman Oil Co, also at the same site, is likely to start this year. The EDC plant will be equally owned by OOC, LGI and NPC, each having a share of 33.3%.
