ONGC's Dahej terminal to be ready by 2010

07-Jun-05
With the commencement of installation work for the petrochem project, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd's (ONGC) Dahej petrochem project is expected to be ready within the next four to five years. Also on the cards is the setting up of a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Mangalore in association with the Karnataka government, at a total investment of approximately Rs 25,000 crore, to be entirely borne by ONGC. The SEZ would include a petrochem plant and LNG terminal amongst other things. Though the petroleum ministry has given their go ahead for the project, the project awaits approval from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
