US petrochem production has declined 15% yoy in Q3 - This is based on results of Q3 petrochemical production and inventory survey released by NPRA and conducted by VERIS Consulting, LLC. Due to disruption of the Gulf Coast producing facilities, it was not possible to obtain Q3-2005 production and inventory statistics from some participants, hence the third quarter data is expected to be adjusted in the Q4 report.
In Q3-2005, total production of the 15 petrochemicals surveyed stood at 46.2 billion pounds- a decrease of 15% as compared with Q3-2004 production of 54.3 billion pounds. These figures represent a 9% drop as compared with Q2-2005 production of 50.6 billion pounds. The petrochemicals surveyed include ethylene, propylene, butadiene, benzene and mixed xylenes.
