Typhoon Morakot that swept through Taiwan over the weekend, causing the worst flooding in 50 years, did not disrupt operations at petrochemical plants in Taiwan. Some petrochemical plants had to shut as a precautionary measure, but resumed operations after a few hours, as per ICIS. Transport has been partially disrupted but all plants continue running. Taichung experienced a power outage, while the outhern parts saw serious flooding, but none of this ended in plant shutdowns.
