Braskem to delay petrochemical projects with Venezuela’s Pequiven by two years

10-Aug-09
Braskem SA plans to delay petrochemical projects with Venezuela's state-run Pequiven in line with forecasts of increased demand for petrochemicals after a few years. This delay also allows the partners to negotiate better prices for equipment. Hence, the polyethylene plant scheduled for start up in 2011 will now be operational in 2014 and the polypropylene plant is being delayed until 2013.
