integrated circuits has driven up trade between the two countries. Singapore's exports to China soared 27% as against last year to S$15 billion (US$9 billion) in 2005. China has become Singapore's third largest export market in 2005, overtaking Malaysia to become the third largest buyer of Singapore-originated goods, excluding oil.
Singapore's top export market in 2005 was the European Union, to which the country exported S$29 billion worth of goods, with the United States ranking second at S$22 billion. Exports to Japan declined 1.2% to S$10.4 billion.
