Viet Nam National Petroleum Corporation (Petrolimex) has been given a go-ahead by the Vietnam government to set up a Nam Van Phong Refinery in Khanh Hoa Province, Vietnam News reported. The newly proposed refinery-nation's seventh in the offing-will have a refining capacity of 10 mln tpa and involve an approximate outlay of US$4.8 bln. The Nam Van Phong Refinery is expected to take off operations by 2013 end and will include polypropylene, benzene among other products including LPG, high-octane unleaded gasoline, kerosene and diesel. The Vietnam Government has have asked the company to submit a techno-feasibility report for the proposed refinery.
