Applied Market Information LLC is pleased to announce the program for PROFILES 2007, the 7th International Conference for the plastics and construction industries. This event takes place June 5-6, 2007 at the Hilton Charlotte Center City, NC, USA. An expert list of speakers will cover the latest developments in materials, manufacturing and applications of plastic building profiles. The market is expanding worldwide with demands for high quality products that meet the wide range of construction regulations.
John Swanson, the editor of Window & Door, will give the opening address at the conference on North American markets. Recent periods of severe weather conditions have increased the demands on the construction industry leading to new types of window technology. Gorell Windows & Doors are talking about their latest hurricane-proof vinyl windows and Lustran Polymers has tested new materials for siding. Weather is also the topic of papers from Lyondell, Q-Lab and DuPont Titanium Technologies.
New materials and technology are being brought into play to meet the requirements of the building industry. This is particularly true of the North American market where customers expect more customized products, which can make automation difficult and manufacture much more labor intensive. There is demand for a variety of geometries in windows and doors, and in addition new color technology is adding to the range of products on offer. Deep purple houses are no longer a fantasy - siding and other profiles can be produced in a vast array of colors from pastels to dark shades. Royal Mouldings will give an overview of decorative effects in profiles. There are a variety of papers on colored profiles from companies such as PolyOne, Shepherd Color, Lanxess and Tronox. Inhance/Fluoro-Seal will describe research to improve the paintability of wood-plastics. DuPont and American Wood Fibers will cover processing of plastic lumber.
Decorative films can be added to give patterns and mimic more traditional materials particularly wood. American Renolit, Delle Vedove and Jowat are giving a joint paper on the possibilities for thermoplastic film and how to apply it to profiles in the manufacturing process.
There are developments in processing profiles and higher performance materials are being used as outer layers to give improved properties. Hans-Juergen Matthesius of Cincinnati Extrusion will speak on profile coextrusion. Peter Zut of Krauss-Maffei is talking about the latest equipment for extruding PVC profiles, with K-Tron on feeding device technology. Waste costs money; Pallmann Maschinenfabrik has been working on methods of recycling lengths of PVC profile back into the production process.
Jeffrey Miller of Comfort Line will be describing the latest developments in pultruded profiles. Several companies are involved in the development of new materials for profile extrusion including Dow Chemical with polyolefin blends and Basell with new halogen free TPOs for soft and flame retardant profiles,
PROFILES 2007 provides an opportunity to get up to date with the latest developments and to network with top professionals in the profile construction industry.
Early bird registration at $800 saving US$150 is available until 30th April 2007.
