State government to develop plastics clusters in West Bengal

The West Bengal Government plans to promote the SME sector in a big way as it has the potential to create huge employment opportunity. In a bid to develop the plastics industry in West Bengal, the state government plans to develop plastics clusters. The state government has shown readiness to provide land for developing plastic clusters in Coochbehar, Jalpaiguri and Midnapore. These units will have the opportunity to market their products in the North-Eastern states and Jharkand. The state government is also in talks with the Centre to improve infrastructure for cross-border trade with Bangladesh.
