Automotive manufacturing group POLYTEC HOLDING AG recently announced closing of the Swedish plant of its Automotive Composites Division due to downturn in the global automotive industry particularly commercial vehicle industry. The decision to close is part of a general restructuring program in the Automotive Composites Division, to adjust its capacities to the degrading market conditions. The Swedish site mainly produces sheet moulding compound (SMC) part for the truck industry.
In accordance with the customers, the Swedish production will be gradually relocated to other plants of the division during 2009. In FY 2008, the POLYTEC COMPOSITES SWEDEN AB with 140 employees achieved total sales of EUR 20 mln.
