Reliance Petroleum selects Dow's Unipol PP process for Jamnagar facility

Reliance Petroleum, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries, has selected Dow's Unipol PP Process for a new world-scale polypropylene (PP) production facility, to be built in a special economic zone adjacent to the Jamnagar complex. The plant will have two reactor lines, each with a capacity of 450,000 tpa. Start-up is scheduled for December 2008. The new facility will produce an entire range of homopolymers to supply Asia's growing markets. Reliance Industries, the largest producer of polypropylene in Asia, currently operates 4 Unipol PP process lines at its Jamnagar complex and 2 Unipol PP Process lines at its Hazira complex.
