Royal Bank of Scotland plans to print its next generation of Scottish banknotes on plastic paper, instead of the traditional cotton.
RBS, which is the second biggest issuer of banknotes in Scotland expects to issue a new 5 pound polymer note in H2-2016 and issue 10 pound polymer notes in 2017. RBS plans to redesign the notes as they will be 15% smaller than current cotton notes.
