RTP Company has added multiple long fiber-reinforced thermoplastic (LFRT) production lines at its Suzhou, China manufacturing facility. The long glass fiber compounds are based on various resin systems including nylon and polypropylene and will support the company's rapidly-growing automotive and industrial customer base in China. The plant will also enable long fiber technology to be supplied to other markets for applications requiring higher strength at lighter weights.
RTP Company significantly expanded its LFRT capabilities earlier this year with the opening of a long fiber facility near its Minnesota headquarters and installed additional long fiber lines at several of its worldwide operations in 2006 and introduced a broader long fiber product offering.
