SAUDI KAYAN, a SABIC affiliate, has awarded two contracts- one each for the phenolics and polycarbonate project.
Contract for the phenolics plant has been awarded to Tecnicas Reunidas Group to construct a Phenolics Plant, with a capacity of 240,000 tpa of Bis-Phenol A. Contract for the260,000 tpa Polycarbonate plant has been awarded to Daelim Industrial Co, Ltd. The projects will introduce specialty products in Saudi Arabia, providing wide opportunities for the growth and diversity of downstream industries.
SABIC holds 35% in Saudi Kayan's capital of SR 15 billion and the Kayan Petrochemical Company holds 20%. The remaining 45% will be offered for public subscription.
