Sabic to delay investment decision on European plants

30-Nov-05
Sabic Europe is to delay its final decision on approval for its E1.5bn investment in new cracker and polyolefin plants in the Netherlands and Germany. Busy engineering contractors and complexity in the European environment have delayed the final decision, which was originally to intended to be reached in Q1-2006. The 2009 start-up date for the project is still beleved to be achievable despite the delays. Sabic Europe's Europe 1 initiative involves an additional 400,000tpa of ethylene and three downstream plants for LDPE (400,000tpa), HDPE (250,000tpa) and polypropylene copolymer (400,000tpa).
