The SACMI Closures&Containers team (Italy), world's leading makers of complete plastic cap production lines, has boosted R&D efforts to develop ever-more advanced techniques and technologies despite a market downturn. At Chinaplas 2009 (May 18 - May 21, Guangzhou, China), SACMI Closures&Containers, in partnership with Assocomaplast (the association that brings together all the major Italian makers of machines and moulds for plastic and rubber), will be presenting, for the very first time, the unique all-new CCM80 [continuous compression moulding machine], the result of over 25 years experience in the industry. According to the company, the CCM80 is the only machine in the world capable of producing more than 2000 caps per minute with just 80 moulds: with ultra-fast cycle times last just 2.4 seconds, it is also able to utilise different raw materials such as polypropylene (PP), high density polyethylene (HDPE) and low density polyethylene (LDPE).
From a cap manufacturing viewpoint it is possible to obtain a nominal closure diameter of up to 33 mm, a maximum height of about 25 mm and a maximum weight of about 6 grams. The company says the machine offers top-quality finished products, outstanding reliability, low-cost maintenance, high productivity, low consumption, minimal colour changeover times, compact overall dimensions, repeatability of the production process. In response to cap producers need for complete turnkey solutions, Sacmi Closures&Containers also works as a "team member" with other Group companies to provide comprehensive solutions to the bottling market. At ChinaPlas exhibition, the company will be present at stand C41, hall 4.1 to illustrate the many advantages of the new machine.
