Japan's Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Co is planning to build methanol
derivatives production plants in China's Nanjing. The plan is to build a 40,000 mta dimethylformamide and a 10,000 mta dimethylacetoamide plant at the Nanjing site by the end of 2007, in addition to a dimethylamin plant with a production capacity of around 50,000 mta.
Methanol feedstock for the dimethylamin plant would come from Mitsubishi
Gas's methanol production facilities in Saudi Arabia and also be shipped from Brunei.
