Bratislava-based refinery Slovnaft has completed the installation of new technology to produce low-density polyethylene (LDPE) to which it invested more than €300 million, a sper spectator.sme.sk. The annual production capacity of LDPE should increase by 40,000 tons to 220,000 tons.
“The new production unit will improve our competitiveness and possibilities to expand to new markets,” said Oszkár Világi, chair of Slovnaft’s board of directors, as quoted by the SITA newswire. About 80% of this is to be exported to foreign markets.
The construction was secured by Maire Tecnimont company via the consortium of its partner firms Tecnimont from Italy and Tecnimont Planung und Industrieanlagenbau from Germany.
