Reports suggest that an alliance for a proposed PVC venture has been inked between Solvay (Brussels/Belgium) and Russian chemical producer Siberian-Ural Petrochemical Co (Sibur) may be imminent. Finalisation of the intended joint venture between SolVin, (a 30:70 JV of Solvay and BASF), and the Russian group's subsidiary Sibur Neftekim, for a 330,000 tpa plant has been expected for months.
