Steam leak shuts Ineos’ petrochemical plant at Lavera

08-Sep-09
A leak from a Napthachimie steam system resulted in the shutdown of INEOS' petrochemical facilities, including a cracker unit at Lavera, France. Ineos’ refinery at Lavera is however, operating normally. There is no schedule for restarting the chemicals plant after the leak, which didn’t lead to injuries or damage to the environment. INEOS, Arkema and Napthachimie have shut down all activities at Lavera. Napthachimie has a 775,000 tpa ethylene cracker and a 540,000 tpa propylene facility at Lavera.
