Repsol Polimeros, a subsidiary of Repsol YPF, Spain, has awarded a lumpsum turnkey contract, for the supply of two new furnaces for an existing steamcracker located in Sines, Portugal. The new furnaces will be based on Technip's proprietary GK6 cracking furnace technology and will expand the Repsol plant capacity by 160,000 tons. The contract covers basic and detailed engineering, procurement and supply of materials, construction and both pre-commissioning and commissioning. The furnaces are scheduled to be completed in 2010.
