Tennis racquets to use Teflon® friction-reducing polymer technology

15-Jan-09
In order to extend the string life and power of tennis racquets, HEAD has announced to use DuPont™ Teflon® friction-reducing polymer in grommets of its HEAD Pro tennis racquets. In addition, HEAD also signed a licensing agreement with DuPont Fluoropolymer Solutions to market the new racquets using the DuPont™ Teflon® brand to create a unique performance differentiator, starting with their new Pro tennis racquet lines. The low-friction contact surface will enable the strings to move through the grommets with little resistance allowing the strings to maintain their energy during ball impact, providing more power, the company says.
