Tobolsk-Polymer’s 500,000 tpa polypropylene plant starts up in Siberia

In a move that is likely to turn Russia from an importer to exporter of PP, Tobolsk-Polymer, a subsidiary of Russian petrochemical company Sibur, has started up its 500,000 tpa polypropylene plant, near Tobolsk in the Tyumen region of Russia. The project comprises two units - a 510,000 tpa propane dehydrogenation (PDH) propylene production unit and a 500,000 tpa polypropylene production unit.
