Tabriz Petrochemical Complex (TPC) plans to double production capacity of polystyrene and ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) in the next two years. A Korean company and Sadra of Iran are to be JV partners of this expansion project valued at US$31mln. Upon completion of the project, ABS production capacity is to double from the current 35,000 to 70,000 tons within two years.
Production at TPC for the last nine months stood at 600,000 tons. The current name plate per day capacity of the complex stands at 80,000 tons of various petrochemical products of which polyethylene, polystyrene and ABS constitute the largest portion.
